Kids DiscoveryWorks is the leading science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) enrichment provider in Singapore for preschool and primary school level children. Our mission is to create memorable exploratory learning experiences so that kids learn through hands-on experiments and play. A variety of unique STEM programs are available – more than we can list here!
From our popular science & engineering programs like SuperHero Science, Whizz, Pop, Bang!, C.S.I. & MasterChef Science, to our exciting Maker and technology programs in digital photography, stop motion animation and robotics, we offer classes, camps & workshops that bring theory to life and ignite a lifelong interest in learning.
Lessons are organized by age group and are kept small to ensure maximum participation.

Science & Engineering
SuperHero Science
In this exciting STEM program, students will explore the intersection of fact and fiction as they discover the science and technology of the MCU! Through mission-based STEM challenges, students will be amazed to discover that the technology of Spiderman: No Way Home is not as farfetched as we think!
Kids will have a great time:
- Exploring the science and applications of nanotechnology!
- Discovering the strange and mysterious behavior of non-Newtonian fluids…with Venom slime!
- Engineering with Newton’s 3 laws of motion…and launching water rockets!
- Designing an escape ramp marble run for a falling MJ…harnessing friction, potential and kinetic energy and more!
Once Upon a Time
This program harnesses the power of beloved children’s stories such as Humpty Dumpty and Hansel & Gretel to introduce Engineers to basic scientific principles and engineering concepts used in aeronautical, civil, environmental and mechanical engineering!
Your child will have loads of fun:
- Experimenting with air pressure to get Humpty to the hospital
- Engineering with electricity and circuits to make DIY flashlights for Hansel & Gretel
- Harnessing the force of friction to help Tortoise win his race
- Discovering buoyancy with the Billy Goats Gruff, and more!
C.S.I.
Who doesn’t love a good mystery? In this engaging forensic science program, young C.S.I.s will try their hand at scientific crime-solving and learn all about dactyloscopy, crime scene evidence processing, forensic chemistry, DNA, heredity and more! C.S.I.s will have an opportunity to develop their skills of observation, problem solving, communication, critical thinking and collaboration as they embark on this mystery whodunnit adventure.
Kids will have a ton of hands-on fun:
- Trying their hand at lifting fingerprints!
- Discovering the mysteries of heredity & DNA…with monster genetics!
- Exploring forensic chemistry, and experimenting with acids, bases and chemical reactions to identify mysterious powders and reveal hidden messages!
- Discovering the science of blood typing, the pros and cons of eyewitness testimony, and more!
Whizz, Pop, Bang!
Embark on an exciting exploration of physics and chemistry with engaging hands-on experiments that promise ooey-gooey, fizzy fun!
Young scientists will (literally) have a blast:
- Discovering states of matter and phase changes…with dry ice!
- Exploring the secrets of non-Newtonian fluids and polymers…with oobleck, slime and “gummy worms”!
- Engineering with the forces of aerodynamics…to launch stomp rockets!
- Experimenting with the amazing properties of water…with “magic” milk and the ancient Japanese art of suminagashi, and so much more!
Spies & Secret Agents
It’s Mission STEMpossible! In this fun and engaging program, young agents and aspiring spymasters will undergo training at our unique spy school.
Kids will have a ton of fun:
Exploring the science of sound to build their very own trip alarms!
Studying the art of cryptology to create and crack coded messages, and design their own coded lockbox!
Discovering the science behind light and lasers to navigate a laser maze
Engineering weapons with potential & kinetic energy, and much, much more!
Masters Of Invention
Explore the life and times of the world’s greatest scientific minds. In this camp, kids will discover the greatest inventions and achievements of Leonardo da Vinci and Galileo Galilei! How did Leonardo become an aeronautical expert without any formal training? Why did he design so many inventive weapons of war when he abhorred warfare? Why was Galileo considered dangerous enough to keep under house arrest?
Your child will have a ton of fun:
- Exploring aerodynamics through Leonardo’s famous flying machines
- Learning about bridge forces and constructing Leonardo’s famous self-supporting bridge
- Designing and building siege machines and crossbows!
- Building a telescope like Galileo!
Space Camp
Have an aspiring astronaut or astronomer at home? Launch them on a space exploration adventure! Through engaging hands-on activities, young explorers will learn about planet Earth, space and our solar system. On the way, they will be exposed to scientific concepts such as gravity, mass, Newton’s laws of motion and aerodynamics.
Children will have a great time:
- Exploring the different planets in our solar system, and learning how planetary rotation and revolution cause night/day and the different seasons
- Discovering the science behind moon phases and black holes
- Learning about the Earth’s layers and magnetic fields through engaging games and hands-on experiments
- Engineering with Newton’s 3rd law and the forces of aerodynamics…to make balloon powered lunar rovers, paper helicopters, rockets, and more!
Dinosaur Discovery
Explore the wonders of prehistoric life with hands-on activities that promise learning, discovery and fun!
Our junior paleontologists will have loads of fun:
- Learning about the most extraordinary dinosaurs to walk the Earth
- Exploring dinosaur habitats 65 million years ago, and making their own dinosaur habitats, complete with volcanoes
- Discovering the art and science of excavation and participating in their very own dino dig!
- Examining real fossils from KDW’s permanent collection and making their own “fossils”, and more!
How To Train A Viking
Adventure awaits fans of How to Train Your Dragon! In this fun & engaging introduction to science and engineering, aspiring dragon trainers will help Hiccup and Toothless evade ruthless dragon hunters.
Kids will have fun:
- Designing a speedy Viking longship – considered an engineering marvel of the ancient world!
- Deciphering Viking runes!
- Engineering with wind power – to transport loot after a Viking raid!
- Exploring Viking catapults, and much, much more!
Math Detectives: A Race Through Time
ALERTING ALL A.C.M.E AGENTS! World-renowned master criminal Carmen Sandiego has stolen Acme’s time transponder and has sent her V.I.L.E villains back to various moments in Earth’s history. Using the powers of Mathematics, agents must follow the clues left behind to hunt down these villains and return precious artifacts to their right place in time – or the course of Earth’s history will never be the same again!
Your child will have loads of fun:
- Discovering Fibonaci’s sequence and the Golden Ratio in mathematics, nature & art!
- Learning about number patterns and mathematical cipher solving…and breaking codes to decipher hidden messages!
- Exploring area, volume & geometry…for ancient Egyptian pyramid building!

Toy Makers Workshop
Maker culture meets STEM in this exciting program that introduces students to the joys of designing and building their own toys! Through fun learning games and hands-on tinkering projects, our young Scientists and Makers will delight in discovering the science behind how each toy works. On the way, they will discover different countries & cultures around the world through their traditional toys!
Students will:
- Explore the difference between contact and non-contact forces…with fun bowling and magnetic decision-making games, and DIY African blow darts!
- Experiment with tension (to deliver pizza and pasta!) and make their own Italian marionettes!
- Discover gravity…with tumble toys & DIY Japanese kendama toys!
- Engineer with friction to make their own trumpo or Filipino spinning top, and much, much more!
Pokemon Earth & Sky
Calling all aspiring Pokemon trainers! Professor Angsana, the world-famous Pokémon Professor, is putting together a team to form the Pokémon Research League. Earn gym badges by completing tasks set by gym leaders from Johto, Kanto, Alola and more, all while learning about our natural world.
Trainers will have a blast:
- Exploring the science of combustion with Charmander!
- Discovering electromagnetism with Pikachu and Magnemite!
- Engineering with air pressure with Pidgey & Spearow!
- Experimenting with light and thermochromism…with color-changing Ditto, and much, much more!
With the help of your Pokémon partners, earn all five gym badges and the right to call yourself a professional Pokémon Trainer!
MasterChef Science
In this captivating culinary science camp, aspiring MasterChefs will embark on an exciting food journey exploring the intricate chemistry of cooking and baking. Students will discover the fascinating world of food molecules and learn how chemical reactions can profoundly impact the texture and flavor of dishes. From unraveling the secrets of protein interactions and the Maillard Reaction to craft soft, fluffy bread and the perfect chocolate chip cookie, to experimenting with heat, sugar and caramelization to create the viral Dalgona toffee and popping bubble tea, students will engage in hands-on cooking projects and edible science adventures that will make learning deliciously fun. Additionally, they will develop practical skills for making informed nutritional choices by learning to read food labels for smarter meal decisions.
Doomsday: Earth Rescue
In this exciting and unique STEM program, science meets robotics for an exciting learning adventure! Aspiring geologists and engineers will race against time and across the globe to save the world from a series of catastrophic events, including devasting earthquakes, tornadoes and volcanic eruptions! Taught by a real life volcanologist and engineer, students will discover the science behind some of the most devastating natural disasters on our planet through fun, hands-on science experiments. Then they’ll apply what they’ve learned to tackle engaging STEM challenges using Lego SPIKE robotics and Scratch-based programming software. From designing communities to survive volcanic hazards to engineering skyscrapers to withstand violent earthquakes, kids will enjoy applying their newfound understanding of natural phenomenon and engineering design concepts to real-life situations.
Technology
Stop Motion Animation Adventures/The Animation Lab
Have aspiring movie-makers at home? Introduce them to the exciting world of animation! Junior animators will go behind the scenes and learn every part of the filmmaking process, from storyboarding and set-making, to production, video editing and music/voice-over creation.
As they work in small teams to bring their stories to life, kids will:
- Discover the fundamentals of storytelling and scriptwriting
- Learn to use a tablet and different media and techniques to capture stop-motion frames and animate characters
- Explore the features of animation software to edit images, add sound effects and music, and edit the video timeline
MakerLab: 3D
Unleash your child’s creativity with 3D printing! Following the same process as an industrial designer, kids will delight in putting their ideas on paper, turning them into 3D models using TinkerCAD and bringing them to life with MakerBot Replicator 3D printers.
While designing and printing their very own 3D creations, children will:
- Discover the exciting and innovative applications of this new technology
- Explore the basics of the 3D printing workflow process
- Learn to design their creations within the Tinkercad workspace, manipulating shapes, controls, positioning and alignment to make their own 3D models
- Prepare and print their 3D creations to take home
- Set their imaginations free with 3D printing pens
Robotics (NASA Robotics, LEGO Robotics: Battlebots!)
Unleash your child’s creativity with robotics! In these fun introductions to robotics and programming, kids will learn how to design and program progressively more challenging robots using Edison Robotics or LEGO Spike Prime. Young engineers will discover how to use motors, sensors and other attachments to make their robots perform specific tasks and meet specific challenges. Whether they are designing next generation space rovers to save stranded astronauts or battling their bots in the ring, kids will have a blast mastering new skills and bringing their creations to life!
Snap! Shutterbugs
Give your kids the gift of a new skill and new perspectives! Through this fun and engaging beginner’s workshop which includes a guided photo walk, kids will learn to use photography as a powerful tool for creative self-expression. Young shutterbugs will explore the visual world, train their creative eye and learn to apply basic composition techniques with confidence.
